On September 4, 2018, IPADE welcomed the 134 members of the 48th Full-Time MBA (MEDE) Class of 2020. Eager to meet their classmates and begin the Program that will transform their lives, the new participants arrived at IPADE’s two permanent campuses in Mexico City (72 participants) and Monterrey (62 participants) for a two-day orientation program.
In his opening address, Ernesto Bolio Barajas, Director of the Full-Time MBA, warmly welcomed each new participant to IPADE, emphasizing the MBA program’s focus on the individual. “IPADE’s mission is to create leaders with a commitment to society and a global vision. The program that you’re about to begin is dedicated to achieving this mission with each and every one of you… This MBA isn’t just ‘full time’—it’s for life.”
The Class of 2020 has the highest percentage of female participants in IPADE’s history. Additionally, the incoming class includes participants from all around the world, including Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, and the United States. The average age among the participants is 27.6 years old, and the class spent an average of 4.5 years in the workforce prior to entering the MBA program.
Orientation activities included a panel presentation from IPADE alumni focused on the impact that the MBA Program had on their entrepreneurial trajectories. Additionally, Eduardo Osuna, Vice President and CEO of BBVA Bancomer and a proud IPADE alum, shared his personal story with the new participants, focusing on how his time at IPADE has impacted his more than 20-year professional career within BBVA Bancomer, the largest bank in Mexico.
During the two-day orientation program, the Class of 2020 was also given the opportunity to engage with their work teams and participate in team building activities, their first opportunity to work with the group that will become their family over the next two years.
Orientation concluded with a simultaneous recitation of the Full-Time MBA Honor Code. IPADE is proud to welcome the 134 students of the MEDE Class of 2020 to our growing community of more than 38,000 students and alumni worldwide.
