IPADE Full-Time MBA participants recently competed in the first virtual War Game workshop, facing off against students from SMU Cox School of Business.
Used by companies around the world as part of their competitive intelligence strategies, War Games offer leaders the opportunity to establish strategic action plans within a controlled environment and make key business decisions in a systematic and informed. Applied to the academic setting, War Games allow participants to learn how to predict the reactions of key players in the market.
In this first edition, held online from February 19-21, 2021, six teams of participants from SMU Cox and IPADE joined “The Battle for the Cloud,” analyzing the business models, opportunities, and scenarios of six companies competing in the cloud computing industry: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud Platform, Salesforce, and Alibaba Cloud. The winning team was selected by a jury of industry leaders and academic experts.
Initiatives such as the SMU & IPADE War Games offer IPADE MBA participants the opportunity to develop and strengthen their prediction and analysis skills in order to better face the increasingly competitive and ever-shifting global environment.
