Invited guest speakers included top industry experts and business leaders who contributed both practical and innovative perspectives to the discussions. Speakers included Maru Escobedo, CEO of BMW México; Magdalena López, CEO of Renault México; José Manuel Arana, CEO of Grupo Industrial Saltillo; Sergio Bautista, Robotics, Local Business Unit Manager at ABB Group; Bruno Juanes, Chief Innovation Officer & Manufacturing Industry Lead at Deloitte; and Flavio Rivera, President and CEO of Daimler Trucks.
In his opening remarks, Arturo Orozco, Director of the Auto Summit and Professor of Operations Management at IPADE, highlighted some of the challenges and opportunities facing the Mexican auto industry. “The automotive industry has been under increasing scrutiny from the media and the government, especially after the NAFTA renegotiations,” said Dr. Orozco. “The purpose of this meeting is to encourage us all to rethink what mobility means within the context of Industry 4.0.”
“We are living in a reality very different from the reality,” added Maru Escobedo, CEO of BMW México. “We know that we have to evolve in order to grow and adapt to future changes, not just in the auto industry, also in society in general.”
