On Monday, June 24, representatives from IPADE and from BBVA Bancomer met to formalize a partnership agreement to train and attract the best talent to the bank. IPADE Dean Rafael Gómez Nava and Eduardo Osuna Osuna, General Manager of BBVA Bancomer, signed the agreement at the bank’s corporate headquarters in Mexico City. Attendees at the evening event included members of the BBVA Bancomer Board of Directors and upper-level management, as well as IPADE leaders and members of the alumni community.
The partnership is focused on attracting talent to the bank and boosting the careers of students and graduates of IPADE by providing students with an opportunity to learn more about different fields by engaging with bank leaders and experts on their areas of expertise. Additionally, Full-time MBA participants will have access to a summer internship program that immerses them in the activities of different areas of the bank. Recent graduates will also have the opportunity to participate in a 12-month rotation program.
“Here at [BBVA Bancomer’s] Talent and Culture Area, we want to ensure that we’re bringing on professionals that are able to engage with the economic challenges currently facing Mexico,” said Fernando Eguiluz, Head of Talent and Culture at BBVA Bancomer. “Today, there is massive potential [for innovation], and what better way to take advantage of that potential than by incorporating the vision and strategic thinking of IPADE graduates into our design of new products and solutions.”
Dean Gómez Nava echoed these sentiments, also touching on the longstanding relationship, both personal and professional, between IPADE and BBVA Bancomer.
“Today, the great companies, the successful leaders, have a responsibility to do things even better,” said Dr. Gómez Nava. “Signing this agreement isn’t just protocol for us, but rather a reaffirmation of IPADE’s true vocation to develop and perfect talent, and of the fact that, as [Mr. Eguiluz] mentioned, people are what truly make a difference…To date, more than 3,000 members of the BBVA Bancomer team have passed through IPADE’s classrooms.”
To close the evening, Mr. Osuna focused on the shared values between IPADE and BBVA Bancomer.
“It’s a pleasure to be here this evening to sign this agreement with IPADE, strengthening the connection between the best business school in Latin America and the largest bank in Mexico,” said Mr. Osuna. “…This partnership is a reaffirmation of Bancomer’s commitment to IPADE, but also our commitment to society. [IPADE and Bancomer] share a set of values that puts our clients, our people, at the center of everything we do; that focuses on thinking big and planning for the future; but above all, that focuses on building a great team that works together, positioning us as leaders in our segment.”
Following Mr. Osuna’s speech, attendees were invited to a celebratory toast and networking reception.
IPADE is proud to continue to solidify its long-standing relationship with BBVA Bancomer, formalizing the connection between the best business school in Latin America and the banking institution leading the digital transformation of banking in Mexico, with both organizations working together to meet the changing needs of financial users not only in Mexico, but in the world.
