Every year, the Innovation, Perseverance and Service Award is granted to two IPADE Full-Time MBA students that represent IPADE’s core values in recognition of their excellent work and character. The winners of the 2018 award were José Antonio Lamas, a participant at IPADE’s Monterrey campus, and Luciana Molina, a participant at the Mexico City campus.
The nominees were selected by their peers based on the following criteria: Innovation(intelligence and creativity when facing day-to-day challenges), perseverance (executes their activities in line with their ideals), and service (serves others with empathy and generosity).
During his speech at the awards ceremony, Dean Rafael Gómez Nava shared a bit more about the award with the gathered guests.
We’re here today to recognize the work of the young people that have truly distinguished themselves during their time in the MBA Program and that have shown that the following three qualities– essential for all good business leaders – are fundamental aspects of their character: creativity, the quality of being original to create; perseverance or the discipline needed for work well done; and service, the ultimate purpose of executive leadership.
The award ceremony was hosted on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Mexico City and on Friday, June 8 in Monterrey. Directors from IPADE attended both ceremonies, along with José Pinto Mazal (president of the board of Grupo Beta San Miguel and the Fundación E. Arocena) who shared the following message of congratulations with the nominees.
Each and every one of you was nominated due to your impeccable character, and each and every one of you could be the winner,” said Mr. Pinto. “Share what you’ve learned here with your family, with your company, with your community, and with your country. I hope that your life is full of happiness and that, in turn, you pass that happiness on to those around you.
The Innovation, Perseverance and Service Award was originally established by Don Eneko Belausteguigoitia, a founder and participant of IPADE’s AD-2 Program and president of Grupo Beta San Miguel and the Fundación E.
