On January 28 and 29, IPADE and AstraZeneca hosted the first edition of the AstraZeneca Challenge. The event offered AstraZeneca the opportunity to identify talented students that could potentially join the pharmaceutical company as part of its summer internship program or as full-time employees.
Each participating team tackled a real business case, presenting their proposed solutions to a jury of representatives from AstraZeneca and IPADE.
The jury included Sylvia Varela (CEO, AstraZeneca), Guillermina Esparza Lizárraga (Human Resources Director, AstraZeneca), Ernesto Bolio Barajas (Corporate Director of the Full-Time MBA), Eva Gabriela Avalos Gibert (Director of the IPADE Mexico City Campus Career Service Office), and Pablo Buitrón Morales (Professor in the Human Resource Management Department and Deputy Director of the CEDIC).
A total of 40 participants from the Full-Time MBA Program took advantage of the opportunity to put their leadership skills into practice and participated in the AstraZeneca Challenge. Team 3 was ultimately declared the winner based on the team’s performance and solutions it identified to address the business challenge.
Winners (Team 3):
- Paola López Esteban García
- Carlos Alberto Cook
- Pablo Cañadas
- Gabriel Alfonso Mercado (exchange student from PAD School of Management in Peru)
