On October 9, IPADE hosted the 4th edition of the Harvard Business Review (HBR) Summit at its primary campus in Mexico City. Following the success of the prior three years, the HBR Summit was once again hosted in collaboration with Harvard Business Review, the leading business and management magazine, and Opinno, a global innovation consultancy and the Spanish-language publisher of the Harvard Business Review. The 2018 event brought together more than 400 of the top business leaders, academics, and entrepreneurs from Mexico, Latin America, and the world to discuss cutting-edge ideas and pressing topics facing the management world today.
The 4th edition of the Summit was focused around the theme “Catalyzing Transformation,” and was organized based on three guiding concepts: plan, act, and improve. The daylong event included sessions on topics such as digital transformation, doing business with China, management in an era of uncertainty, and managing people in the digital era, as well as workshops on disruptive innovation, cybersecurity, and agile leadership. Speakers included Amy Bernstein, Editor of the Harvard Business Review; Pedro Moneo, Editor of the Harvard Business Review Spanish edition and Founder and CEO of Opinno; Armando Betancourt, Digital Solutions Sales Director LATAM at GE Power; Jason Wild, Vice-president of Strategic Innovation at Salesforce; Blanca Gómez González, Expert in People Management, Talent, and Digital Transformation at Microsoft; Timothy O’Brien, Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and many more.
Participants were invited to dive deep into the topics covered, engaging in discussions with the panelists and with each other throughout the day. Keynote sessions and roundtable discussions were complemented by smaller, interactive workshops, providing attendees with incredible opportunities to engage with and learn from the experience of top thought leaders, academics, and CEOs. “I really love this event because of the way that [the audience] really makes everyone rethink and challenge things through [their] interactions,” said Amy Bernstein, Editor of HBR. “Catalyzing transformation is the most urgent topic facing our world today.
“Digital transformation is a subject that is on the agenda of every company these days; it isn’t just a trend, it’s a reality, and we’re all involved,” added Rafael Gómez Nava, Dean of IPADE. “Digital transformation will take companies to a new whole level, and it’s important to reinvent the traditional focus to take advantage of the best of new technologies.”
IPADE is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge content to its alumni and the Mexican business community in general and is proud to support the HBR Summit as the Exclusive Academic Partner.
